About The Brown Noise

The Brown Noise was created to serve as a hub and connector for DIY artists and musicians who create sights + sounds inspired by the cosmic, the ethereal, the absurd, and the esoteric.

We are not limited by any particular genre, however, we chose to affiliate ourselves with very particular artists and sounds that cannot be easily categorized or compartmentalized outside of expansive tags or descriptors, of say, "atmospheric" or "cinematic".

Inspired by a handful of our incredible indie label forefathers - 4AD, Touch & Go, Warp, Hydrahead, Slash, Sub Pop, etc. - we hope to craft an idiosyncratic sound + identity through an extraordinary artist/release roster, a close-knit community of musicians and fans, and of course, impeccable taste.

We look forward to seeing the sights + hearing the sounds.
